Public Class: Dali’s Surrealism
Date: 09/17/14
Time: 7:00-8:30pm
What: While the Surrealist movement of the early 20th century featured fantastic painters such as Giorgio De Chirico, René Magritte, and Man Ray, none were more influential than the master of melting clocks, Salvador Dali.  Inspired by the writings of psychologist, Sigmund Freud, and the surreal art of Renaissance painter, Arcimboldo, Dali created art that was based more on dreams than reality. In this class we will create our own paintings influenced by Dali’s aesthetics by painting objects in a melting, surreal dreamscape.
