Unleash Your Inner Artist!® with ArtJamz®

Founded in 2010 in Washington DC, ArtJamz® is America’s original public art studio and lounge as well as the National Capital Region’s original source of participatory paint parties. We were the first in the area to combine socializing, drinks and creative expression in order to let people Unleash Your Inner Artist!®. Our public art studio and lounge, plus unique brand of guided-freestyle paint parties, are great for social and professional events, office outings, private paint parties, kids parties, and date nights as well as for singles looking for something fun to do in Washington DC. Click here for locations and hours.

ArtJamz is a public art studio and lounge where anyone can paint and sip and create a work of art. ArtJamz is unique in the fast-growing paint-and-sip industry in that we were the first to offer Freestyle painting sessions where people can design an original work of art. We provide studio time, canvas, art materials and guidance. All you do is show up, paint, have a drink, listen to jamming tunes and enjoy yourself. This is not one of those mundane classes where everyone sits down and paints a rainbow by-the-numbers. We want you to create something unique and jamming. Roving art-trained artists, a.k.a. our Creative Enablers, are always on hand to provide tips, guidance and encouragement. Oh, and you can paint on the walls. We like that.

Having said all that, we do offer classes for those looking for something more guided. Our ArtJamz Academy provides lessons focused on artistic fundamentals and techniques and styles popularized by well-known artists – think “Paint Like Monet” and “Paint Like Pollock,” etc. Find upcoming classes here.

Online reservations are highly recommended. Use our event calendar to reserve. Walk-ins are accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis and access is dependent upon space and availability. We don’t allow customers under the age of 18 in the studio after 6PM. Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

ArtJamz can range from $25 to $50 per person depending on if you are aged 14 and above, how long you paint, which canvas size you choose and if you enjoy beverages or not. For pricing information visit our FULL MENU.

Your ArtJamz experience has three separately-priced components: 1.) Studio Time 2.) Canvas 3.) Drinks. You can select these items a la carte, or choose one of our arty packages, which include 1.5 hours of studio time and 1 canvas.

Live like an artist without the mess at home! Studio time includes unlimited acrylic paints, paintbrushes and tons of cool “weapons of mass creativity” like paint knives, graffiti markers, pencils, oil pastels, glitter, drafting tape, construction paper, glue, stencils, collage materials and random crafty knickknacks. You also get a standing easel, a smock, a paint palette and personalized guidance from our art-trained Creative Enablers. And yes … again … we let you paint on the walls. Hashtag #fun!

Canvases and KidRobot DIY Street Art Dolls are priced separately and come in a range of sizes (8×10, 12×16, 16×20, 20×24, 24×30) and prices. We use studio-grade stretched cotton canvas. Please note that we do not keep or store canvas at the studio. We have hair-dryers as well as wet canvas carry bags at the studio. Left canvases get painted over and re-sold as recycled art. You may also BYOC (bring your own own canvas) for a nominal fee.

Order from a selection of white, red and sparkling wines, beer and specialty cocktails, depending on the location, as well as non-alcoholic sodas, tea, coffee and water.

Want a gift card, ArtJamz smock, “ArtJamz Original Work of Art” T-shirt, wine glass, extra paint, mug or stickers? We’ve got `em. They make great gifts.

We don’t tell you what to paint – this is isn’t one of those banal and structured wine and paint class things; but our staff of creative enablers are always on hand to give personalized tips, guidance and encouragement, making our paint parties the best and most creative anywhere. Since opening, ArtJamz has proudly served as one of Washington DC’s most popular paint parties and creative outlets as well as an innovative leader in the global participatory paint party movement. We love what we do – after coming to a paint party at ArtJamz, you’ll see why.

ArtJamz was launched in February 2010 by Michael M. Clements as a production of Genki Media® LLC, a company dedicated to incubating creative enterprises in the Washington D.C. metro area. The ah-ah moment came when Clements was up late one night painting, drinking and hanging out with a group of friends instead of going out. He half jokingly said, “Wouldn’t this be great if we could do this at a bar?” The rest they say, is history …
